Senior BRS MLA Harish Rao lashed out at the Congress government, accusing it of betraying farmers and completely abandoning the welfare of fishermen and rural communities.
Participating in the annual celebrations of the Gangamma Temple in the Raghavapur village of Siddipet Rural Mandal on Saturday, he reminded people of the development achieved during KCR’s tenure.
He stressed that during KCR’s rule, over Rs 1,000 crore was spent on helping Gangaputras (fishing communities).
“Even without regular rainfall, our tanks remained full because of Kaleshwaram. Even after the rabi season ended, there was still water in them. This is proof of KCR’s vision,” he said.
Harish sharply criticised Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy’s statements on the Kaleshwaram Project.
“Does Uttam have a clue? He claims not a single acre was irrigated. But isn’t it a fact that water from Ranganaiksagar, which is part of Kaleshwaram, reached these very fields?”
“Some fools sitting in Hyderabad, despite having eyes and ears, can’t see or hear the truth. The people who make false claims about Kaleshwaram, I wonder whether they are eating normal food or chewing some nonsense,” he said.
Harish accused the Congress Government of completely ignoring the Mudiraj and Gangaputra communities. “KCR gave them livelihood options. This government has taken it away,” he said. “When KCR was in power, fishlings were released in time, tanks were full, and farmers received Rythu Bandhu on schedule,” he said.
“Now, Rythu Bandhu for the kharif season has not been given. The rabi aid was just eyewash. Even Dharani has been scrapped by Revanth. And let’s not forget, loan waivers haven’t reached even a fraction of farmers,” he said.
