TS lost Rs 3 lakh crore due to Centre’s poor performance: KCR

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao warned that a Taliban-like situation will arise in India due to religious and caste hatred and divisiveness.KCR was addressing public meetings after inaugurating integrated district collectorates and BRS offices in Mahbubabad and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
“If religious fanaticism is promoted and people are divided it will become hellish. A Taliban-like situation will arise in India like in Afghanistan leading to tragedies. The hatred can burn the country’s lifeline itself,” he said.
He said people should be on alert to the “attempts being made” to whip up emotions and to divide them along religious lines.He warned that attempts to spread communal hatred will create hell.
Speaking at Bhadradri-Kothagudem, KCR said his party and the government will treat citizens equally and that hatred among people along communal lines would hurt the country.
“If the country faces such a disturbance, if we become like the Taliban, will investments come? Will there be jobs? Will existing industries function? How will society be if there are disturbances and followed curfews, lathi-charges and firings? You are observing what is happening today, how evil attempts are being made to put the country on the wrong path,” KCR said.
The BRS leader said that youth should use their brains and think, be alert and discuss what is happening in the country.
“Comprehensive development is possible when there is peace in the country and when there is a government at the Centre which works without bias,” he said.
KCR said that Telangana with its model of development is showing the way to the country and called upon people to join hands with the BRS.
He pointed out that when Telangana was formed the per capita income was Rs 62,000 and now it has gone up to Rs 1.85 lakh.
He said that the GSDP of Telangana did not grow as it should have as the Centre “failed to perform” like the TS government.
The GSDP of Telangana was Rs 5,000 billion at the time of the State’s formation in 2014 and it is now Rs 11,500 billion today, KCR said. “Due to the Centre’s “inefficiency,” Telangana alone lost Rs 3,000 billion,” he said. These figures are given by economists, the RBI and the CAG, he added.
Our GSDP would have been Rs 14,500 billion, but it is now only Rs 11,500 billion due to the Centre’s policies, he said.
He said out that Telangana’s GSDP increased from Rs 5,000 billion to Rs 11,500 billion in the last eight years. “If only the Centre had performed like Telangana, our GSDP would have been Rs 14,500 billion,” he said.
KCR said the Centre failed to address basic problems like water and electricity and that the country has water for its needs but was unable to supply it.
He pointed out that the Krishna tribunal was constituted almost 20 years ago but is yet to allocate water and that this was delaying the construction of projects.
KCR announced Rs 50 crore for the development of the Mahbubabad municipality and Rs 25 crore each for other municipalities in the district. He also announced an engineering college for the district.
While this is the prevailing situation, high-sounding speeches are made which serve no purpose, he claimed. Referring to the public meeting proposed to be organised by the BRS at Khammam near Bhadradri-Kothagudem on January 18, he said the meeting was planned to raise people’s awareness for “saving the country.”
He said the Chief Ministers of Delhi, Punjab and Kerala, Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, and Pinarayi Vijayan, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy will share the dais with him.
