The Telangana government is not cooperating with the Centre to execute the MMTS Phase-II project that would connect Ghatkesar to Yadadri, Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy said on Saturday.

He said that the Centre had sent a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stating that the Centre will launch the project as soon as the Telangana government starts land acquisition. Kishan said that there was no response from the State government even after sending many letters.

He said the Centre is not getting any cooperation from the BRS government regarding MMTS Phase-II and that the BRS government is not releasing the funds it is supposed to release for the project.

Asking KCR to show interest in the project, he said that the Centre had decided to build the new railway line and had released funds for it. “It is unfortunate that the State government is not cooperating,” he said.

Kishan launched the 29th Akhanda Jyothy Yatra after conducting special poojas at the Yadadri Bhavan in Barkatpura and as the Yatra will go to Yadagirigutta during Yadadri Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Brahmotsavams, he urged all sections of people to get the blessings of Laxmi Narasimha Swamy on the way Akhanda Jyothy goes to the Yadagirigutta temple.

He said that there is a need to improve facilities and perform poojas instead of constructing new temples. Kishan said that the Centre is developing 156 temples across the nation including Jogulamba Temple with Central funds.

He said that recently President Draupadi Murmu had conducted poojas regarding development projects connected to Bhadrachalam and Ramappa Temples.
