Naidu, Jawahar, Chinarajappa among 1,000 TDP leaders & cadre booked

The police registered cases against 1,000 TDP leaders and activists including former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, former ministers KS Jawahar and N Chinarajappa for organising a public meeting in Anaparthi without taking permission from the police and also attacking the police on February 17.

Chandrababu Naidu was named as accused 1, Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy was named as accused 2, former minister KS Jawahar as accused 3, Swamy Naidu was named as accused 4, former home minister Nimmakayala Chinarajappa was named as accused 5, former MLA Kondababu as accused 6, Jyotula Navven accused 8, Aitabatula Ananda Rao accused 9 and Gollapalli Surya Rao was named as accused 10.

DSP Bakthavatsalam lodged a complaint against the TDP leaders and cases under sections 143, 353 and 149 were registered in Anaparthi and Bikkavolu police stations. Cases were also registered against some of the TDP leaders under sections 188, 506 and 43.

IG Pala Raju said that Chandrababu Naidu was informed that Police Act 30 is enforced at the area and no meeting shall be organised.

When the police tried to prevent the TDP activists from holding the meeting they smashed the windscreens of a police bus and indulged in pelting stones.
