Krishna District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Milk Union (Vijaya Dairy) has increased the milk prices of all varieties by Rs 2 per litre except tiny packets from March 1.
The Vijaya Dairy management has made it clear that small milk packets, curd, and other milk-product prices remained unchanged.
Vijaya Dairy Managing Director (MD) Kolli Eswara Rao issued a press release in this regard here on Monday.
He said that due to the increase in the animal feed and maintenance costs, milk collection from the dairy farmers, raw material transportation and packing material cost burden, the management has decided to increase the prices of milk. For every milk sachet (1/2 litre) Rs 1 would be collected from March 1, he said.
He requested the milk consumers to understand the financial situation of the dairy and cooperate with them. The new prices would be applicable for the monthly cardholders from March 10, he said.
According to a Vijaya Dairy press release, Vijaya Low Fat (DTM) milk price per 1 litre is Rs 54 and 1/2 litre is Rs 27. Also, Vijaya Economy (DM) 1 litre price will cost Rs 58 and 1/2 litre Rs 29, Vijaya Premium (Standardised) 1-litre Rs 62 and 1/2 litre Rs 31.
Similarly, Vijaya Special (Full Cream) 1 litre price will cost Rs 72 and the 1/2 sachet Rs 36. The milk union will collect Rs 74 per litre for Vijaya Gold and Rs 37 for 1/2 litre and Rs 68 per litre for the Vijaya Tea-Mate and Rs 34 for the 1/2 litre.
