The Chairman of the Foxconn Technology Group (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd), Young Liu, in a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, confirmed the commitment of Foxconn to set up a manufacturing facility in Kongar Kalan and sought the support of the Telangana team to operationalize the Kongar Kalan Park as early as possible.

The CMO in a statement said that this clarifies the issue of whether Foxconn will set up a manufacturing facility in Telangana or not.

The Chairman referred to discussions with KCR during his meeting on March 2. He conveyed his gratitude for the hospitality extended to him and his team during their visit to Hyderabad. Describing the visit the Chairman said that they had a wonderful time during their stay in Hyderabad.

The Chairman, impressed by KCR’s hospitality, thanked him for his warm birthday wishes and a personalised card.

“I was indeed inspired by your vision and the efforts to develop Telangana. I now have a new friend in India and I look forward to working with you in future,” he said.

Concluding the letter he wrote that he looks forward to meeting KCR soon. Young Liu extended an invitation to the Chief Minister to visit Taiwan as his guest, mentioning that it would be his honour to host KCR in Taipei.

It may be recalled here that, when both KCR and the Chairman of the Foxconn Technology Group, Young Liu, met at Pragathi Bhavan on March 2 it was agreed that Foxconn would set up an electronics manufacturing facility in Telangana which could generate around one lakh jobs.

KCR said that Telangana considers Taiwan as its natural partner and that the State is glad to be a part of Foxconn’s growth.

The occasion was utilized by KCR and Young Liu to discuss the importance of diversifying electronics manufacturing to ensure a resilient supply chain and the pivotal role to be played by State Governments.

The Chief Minister said that the government has been successful in implementing the new industrial policy and had attracted huge investments to Telangana. KCR said that Foxconn’s huge investment and the opportunity to create around one lakh jobs in Telangana are commendable.

The Foxconn Chairman said that his organization has studied Telangana extensively. He praised the friendly industrial development ecosystem in Telangana.

Young Liu expressed happiness over the progress achieved by Telangana in the industrial sector, especially in IT and related electronic sectors in a short span of eight and a half years.

The Chairman of Foxconn Technology Group (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd), Young Liu, reconfirming his company’s commitment to set up a manufacturing facility in Telangana is indeed a great success for the state on the industrial front.
