Minister for Animal Husbandary, Fisheries and Cinematography Talasani Srinivas Yadav said that the government is making efforts improve educational standards in the government schools on par with the corporate schools.
The minister distributed shoes to 400 students of the Government High School at Ameerpet under the aegis of Agarwal Samaj. He declared that he was adopting the school. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had launched the Mana Basthi, Mana Badi programme to provide high standard of education in the government schools for which Rs 7,200 crore has been allocated.
The minister said that 33 per cent of the schools were covered in the first phase of the programme. As part of it, Rs 90 lakh was released to the High School in Ameerpet. The amount would be utilised for the development of the school. It would be also be utilised for the purchase of sports equipment. He directed the school principal to give a detailed report within a fortnight on the development activities to be taken up in the school.
The minister declared that he would change the outlook of the school to make it a role model in the state. He lauded the Agarwal Samaj for lending a helping hand to the school. He said free midday meal was being provided to the school children. He inaugurated a purified water cooler at the school on the occasion. School Prinicipal Madhu, Agarwal Samaj president Ritesh Jagnani and Deputy DEO Yadayya were among those present on the occasion.
