CM to give away title deeds at Narasannapeta in S’kulam

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the second phase of the ‘Jagananna Sasvata Bhu Hakku Bhu Raksha’ scheme at Narasannapeta in Srikakulam district on Wednesday. As part of the exercise, he will distribute title deeds to farmers in the village. The comprehensive land resurvey is undertaken for the first time in the country after 100 years. The resurvey of land documents and registration will continue for 15 days in 2,000 villages through village secretariats.

The resurvey of lands in the State is being completed step by step. The process was completed in the villages where the resurvey is completed and the process of registration of the immovable property is done in the respective village secretariats. The Government of Andhra Pradesh launched the “YSR Jaganna Sashvata Bhu Hakku Bhu Raksha Scheme” on December 21, 2020.

During the resurvey of 2,000 villages, 4.3 lakh subdivisions and 2 lakh mutations were made on land and revenue records within a period of 8–9 months. According to the State government, resurvey was done using state-of-the-art technology. Andhra Pradesh is the first state in the country to undertake this comprehensive resurvey using state-of-the-art survey technologies like drones, continuously operating reference stations, and GNSS rovers.

The main objective of this comprehensive survey is to provide rights security to land owners by providing land title deeds and security of land by planting land protection survey stones based on geo-referenced coordinates with an accuracy of less than 5 cm. Henceforth, registration of immovable property in village secretariats and the land information can be accessed by anyone anytime from anywhere. The resurvey project is being undertaken with 2.26 crore acres which include agricultural land in 2.47 crore survey numbers belonging to 1.07 crore farmers in a total of 17,461 villages across the State.

The government has launched an effort to survey 85 lakh public and private properties in 13,371 ‘gramkantham’ (village habitations) and 40 lakh public and private properties in 123 urban areas. These village sites and municipal lands are also being surveyed for the first time

This flagship programme is undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 1,000 crore and the State government has committed itself to complete the project by December 2023. For the first time, the State government bears the entire cost of land conservation survey stones. The project was undertaken in collaboration with the Survey of India, Revenue, Survey, Panchayat Raj, Municipal Administration, and Registration departments in the state.

As many as 10,185 village surveyors at the village level, have undergone 70 training sessions on advanced resurvey techniques. Likewise, 1,358 Mandal Mobile Magistrates (2 per mandal) have been entrusted with the task while 2,797 Village Revenue Officers, 7,033 Panchayat Secretaries and 3,664 Ward Planning Secretaries have been appointed to carry out the programme with the participation of farmers.

So far, drone flying has been completed in 6,819 villages covering an area of 47,276 sq km. To date, resurvey activities have been completed in 2,000 villages and land title deeds have been generated for 7,29,381 farmers in 1,835 villages.
