Two sisters were done to death and their bodies were set on fire at their house in Armoor. The culprits are yet to be unidentified. The incident took place on Tuesday night.
The locals noticed smoke coming out of the house on Wednesday and peeped into the house. To their horror, they found two charred bodies of sisters. The deceased were identified as Rajavva and Gangavva. They immediately alerted the police. The police arrived at the crime scene and took up the investigation.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Prabhakar Rao, Circle Inspector Suresh rushed to the spot and inspected the bodies. With the help of the CLUES team and a sniffer dog, they gathered evidence present there.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, the police said. It is suspected that robbery could be the motive behind the murders. The police are also investigating the enmity angle.
The police expressed confidence in achieving breakthrough in the investigation.
