Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao has predicted that the people of Telangana would dump Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in the Bay of Bengal. He asserted that Rahul Gandhi would become prime minister after the next elections
Taking part as the chief guest at a meeting, organised by the Congress party activists’ BC Aikya Vedika, held under the aegis of DCC president Nirmala, here on Wednesday, he said that the Congress had provided quota to the Backward Classes and also for women. The Congress always supported the poor and strive for their welfare. The party would never ignore sincere party leaders who carried the party flag on their shoulders.
He appealed to the party workers to work for achieving the rights of the BCs instead of fighting among themselves in the name of castes. A huge public meeting of the BCs would be held in Telangana soon. All leaders, including Manikrao Thakre, Revanth Reddy and Bhatti Vikramarka agreed to the proposal to organise a BC meeting.
