Badminton players from Krishna district excelled in the Andhra Pradesh Senior State Badminton Championship held at Kadapa from August 2 to 6.
According to Krishna District Badminton Association (KDBA) secretary Parasa Srinivas, the district’s women’s doubles team L Mamikya and T Surya Charishma defeated D Deepika and D Sravanthi (Guntur), 21-14, 21-16 to bag the championship.
Also, in women’s singles, T Surya Charisham lost to Navya Kanderi (Chittoor), 11-21, 12-21 in the final. In the mixed doubles category, Abdul Rehman (Kadapa) and L Mamikya (Krishna) beat K Sai Pavan (East Godavari) and Rashmitha (Krishna), 18-21, 21-16, 21-11.
