The schemes intended to help the poor are a continuous process, said Minister for Prohibition and Excise V Srinivas Goud on Monday. The scheme to provide financial assistance to the most backwards among the Backward Classes will also be a continuous process, he has said.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting here, shortly after distributing Rs 1 lakh financial assistance to the Backward Classes engaged in traditional occupations. The financial assistance was extended to 300 beneficiaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Srinivas Goud observed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao introduced the scheme to help the people belonging to the Backward Classes. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government has taken measures to ensure that every household was benefited from welfare and developmental programmes.
Aasara pensions, providing superfine rice to schools and hostels for the benefit of the students, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima were rolled out for the welfare of the poor and farmers. Telangana was the only State that was providing Dalit Bandhu and BC Bandhu, he said. Apart from Backward Classes, the scheme would be extended to the poor among upper castes, too, he said.
The dry run of Stage 1 of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) was conducted successfully, he said, while expressing confidence that the tanks in the district would be filled with water from the reservoir. The government has been ensuring that patients are getting quality healthcare in government hospitals free of cost. A 1000-bed super-speciality hospital is being built in Mahabubnagar.
District Collector G Ravi Nayaka, appealed to the beneficiaries to make use of the financial assistance being provided by the government.
On Monday, the government extended financial assistance to 900 beneficiaries in the district.
