The Centre will convene a meeting on November 23 of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to discuss issues connected with bifurcation. Union Home Department officials have informed both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana officials regarding this. The Centre has decided to discuss all pending bifurcation issues at the meeting. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla will preside over the meeting.

In the earlier meeting held on September 27 on pending partition issues, officials discussed common issues as well as seven issues raised by AP. The Centre included funds for backward districts, compensation of revenue deficit, and railway projects connecting Amaravati in the agenda of the last meeting. With Telangana and Andhra Pradesh maintaining a firm stance on bifurcation issues, no progress could be made at that meeting convened by the Union Home Ministry to resolve bifurcation issues between the two Telugu States. Most of the issues didn’t see any progress as cases filed by the two States made the Ministry give the standard response that it would examine issues in consultation with the Law Department.
