NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao inaugurated the Dr YSR Urban Primary Health Centre near Swargapuri at Krishna Lanka in Vijayawada city on Tuesday, along with Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi. The centre was constructed under the Ayushman Bharat scheme using State and Central government funds to the tune of Rs.99.40 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Dilli Rao said that the State government was giving top priority to the health sector. Quality medical services were provided to the people through Dr YSR UPHCs and Village Health Clinics. All facilities have been provided in Dr YSR UPHC, Krishna Lanka, he added.
The State government has spent Rs.427 crore under the Arogyasri scheme in the district so far. Following AP, many States are showing interest in launching the YSR Arogya Asara scheme, he added.
Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi said that 40 Urban Primary Health Centres were serving the people in the city. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is implementing many schemes that none of the other State governments in the country has implemented, she added.
YSRCP Vijayawada East in-charge Devineni Avinash, VMC Deputy Mayor Bellam Durga, DM&HO Dr M Suhasini, district officers Mahesh, Dr Naveen, UPHC Medical Officer Dr Priyanka, Corporator T Konda Reddy and others were present.
