Union Minister for Health Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has reiterated that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) is aimed at providing the benefits of welfare schemes to all eligible and create awareness among people of welfare schemes.
The Union Minister along with State Health Minister Vidadala Rajini and Principal secretary of health department MT Krishna Babu visited the Ayushman Arogya mandir and the 104 health clinic at Mamillapalli village in Ponnur mandal on Friday.
The Union Minister saw the machine which sprays fertilizers on the crops, advanced drones, Pradhana Mantri Ujwal Yojana, TB screening Nehru Yuva Kendram and other stalls at the programme.
Addressing the meeting organized on the occasion, the Union Minister said that it is happy to note that a large number of people are participating in the Viksit Bharat Sankalpa Yatra.
The VBSY is being organized aiming to apprise people about the implementation of 17 welfare schemes and how much benefits the eligible beneficiaries are getting with the schemes. He said that free medical treatment would be provided to the PMJDY and AP government’s Aarogyasri card holders.
Mansukh Mandaviya lauded the state government for its efficient management of the health department. He called upon the poor to avail the benefits welfare schemes being implemented by the Central and state governments.
Health Minister Vidadala Rajini said that the revolutionary changes being brought by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in all sectors and the welfare schemes being implemented were explained to the Union Minister.
She said that the AP government is modernizing government hospitals under the Nadu Nedu programme by spending Rs 17,000 crore and 11 medical colleges are being constructed at a cost of Rs 8,500 crore in various districts in the state, Rajini said.
State health department principal secretary MT Krishna Babu also spoke. State health and family welfare department commissioner J Nivas, joint Collector G Rajakumari and other officials were among those who accompanied the Union Minister.
Earlier, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya laid the foundation stone for 2 Critical Care Blocks and a BSL-3 Laboratory in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh today.
He also inaugurated 7 Integrated Public Health Laboratories to be set up in various districts of the state. Vidadala Rajini, Minister of Health, Government of Andhra Pradesh was also present.
