The Revanth Reddy Cabinet has decided to implement two more guarantees – gas cylinder at Rs 500 and free power up to 200 units.
At its meeting here on Sunday, the State Cabinet also decided to convene the Assembly budget session on February 8 and decided to seek Vote-on-Account. The Cabinet also approved the Governor’s speech for the budget session.
The Cabinet meeting lasted more than three hours at the Secretariat. Several crucial decisions were taken.
Later, Ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy briefed the media about the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting. Sridhar Babu said that 65 ITIs will be upgraded as Advance Technology Centres by introducing new courses. The government approved allocating 100 acres for the High Court complex.
The Cabinet approved the setting up of the Kodangal Area Development Authority (KADA) for the development of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s Assembly constituency. The Cabinet decided to conduct a caste census in the state. He said that the government will implement two more guarantees and they are supplying a gas cylinder for Rs 500 and 200 units free electricity a month.
Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the BRS government’s emblem reflected anarchic attitudes and so the Cabinet decided to make some changes in it.
Responding to a question, Ponguleti said that the present Telangana Thalli is reflecting someone’s form and hence the Cabinet decided to change the Telangana Thalli’s form. There would not be any arrogance from now onwards, Ponguleti said.
Sridhar Babu said that Amnesty would be given to prisoners who showed good character during imprisonment.
Responding to a question, Ponguleti lashed out at BRS leaders and asked what had the BRS government done in the last 10 years.
He made it clear that the government will implement the 6-guarantees at any cost. It is not proper for BRS leaders to criticise the Congress government which has not even completed two months, he said.
He said that the government will implement two more guarantees and they are Rs.500 per gas cylinder and 200 units free power.
