State Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has said that the MCMC committee’s approval is mandatory for political advertisements in electronic media for the upcoming elections. District MCMC committee will have to approve the advertisements to be aired at the district level and the state MCMC committee will have to approve the advertisements to be aired at the state level.
Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena on Thursday held a meeting with all political parties on the issue of political advertisements. During the meeting, he said that the respective registered political parties should apply at least three days before the date they want to broadcast political advertisements in electronic media. He said that the committee will take a decision within two days of the application. Political parties have been asked to follow the Election Commission’s regulations on political advertisements on electronic media.
