It seems that the leaders have resigned from the Congress party as they thought that they would get the right priority only if they joined the Congress party.
It is reported that they have mentioned to their followers that they are changing the party because the high command is not paying attention to them. It seems that some top leaders of the Congress have also invited the couple of Deputy Mayor Srilata to the party. As part of the plan, Sobhan Reddy resigned from the basic membership of the party and from the post of president of BRS state labor department. They will join the Congress on Sunday at 11 am at Gandhi Bhavan in the presence of Telangana Congress in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi. In the letter of resignation, they expressed their grief that the activists in BRS Party were not supported. GHMC Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilata Shobhan Reddy spoke to the media after resigning from the BRS party.
She said, “We are joining the Congress on Sunday . We have been in BRS for years and we fought in the movement. We did not get the priority we expected from the party high command. We were offended because we did not have a proper place in the party. We asked for MLA ticket but couldn’t get, we asked for MP ticket but there is no possibility. My husband went to meet BRS working president KTR but was made to wait for an hour. We did not get justice in KCR’s party and that’s why we are leaving the party. We were hoping for the post of mayor of GHMC but we were given the post of deputy”.
“The leaders of that party assured him that they will give him a good position from the Congress. He promised to give the post of mayor in the upcoming GHMC elections. That position is mine and I will stay here. You will see who will resign from the BRS party along with us and join the Congress,” said Srilata Shobhan Reddy.
