CPM takes out rally against water meters

CPM State secretariat member Ch Babu Rao has said that his party will host an agitation demanding the removal of meters for drinking water taps, at the Pasuputhota in Vijayawada on December 11. He asked the VMC officials why they are fitting meters for drinking water taps.

He was addressing a meeting after CPM workers took out a precession demanding the removal of meters for drinking water taps arranged by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, at Madhura Nagar in Vijayawada on Saturday. CPM leaders and the cadre went door-to-door and inspected the meters. As part of the procession, they raised slogans against the fitting of meters for drinking water taps. Babu Rao further demanded that people’s representatives and officers explain why the meters are being fixed for the drinking water taps.
