Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar has hinted that the State government would issue new ration cards to all the eligible people.
Participating as chief guest at the May Day celebrations held here on Wednesday, Prabhakar said that currently model code of conduct is in vogue. Once the code is lifted, the State government will fulfil all promises, he said.
The government has already implemented some of the guarantees like free travel for women by RTC buses and providing LPG cylinder at a subsidised price of Rs 500 for poor families, extending free power up to 200 units to the poor, the ceiling on Arogya Sri scheme has been doubled to Rs 10 lakh, he said.
The government has plans to extend Rs 4000 as pension per month to the aged under Asara programme and will implement measures to issue new ration cards, he added.
