A case has been registered at the Chevella police station against former MLA and senior BRS leader Jeevan Reddy and his family members. The complaint was filed by Damodar Reddy accusing Jeevan Reddy of grabbing his land.
Damodar Reddy claimed to have purchased 20 acres of land in Erlapally in 2022. He alleges that Jeevan Reddy demolished a function hall he built on his property, which is adjacent to Jeevan Reddy’s land in survey numbers 32, 35, 36, and 38, and occupied the land in 2023.
The complainant further alleged that Jeevan Reddy has been using a gang from Punjab to intimidate him and prevent him from reclaiming his property. He complained to the police that the gangsters had attacked him with deadly weapons when he demanded that Jeevan Reddy get out of his land.
He sought police protection fearing reprisals from Jeevan Reddy. In response to the complaint, the police registered a case against Jeevan Reddy and his family members under sections 447 (criminal trespass), 427 (mischief causing damage), 341 (wrongful restraint), 386 (extortion by putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt), 420 (cheating), and 506 (criminal intimidation) read with section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is underway.
