10,000 TV EPISODES, 500 FILMS AND COUNTING

I have collaborated with some of the best producers in the industry, most notably Raj Kapoor. I cherished viewing movies directed by Vijay Anand, Satyajit Ray, and Manmohan Desai. Incidentally, Manmohan Desai, whom I used to endearingly refer to as ‘Manji’, was the one who, ironically, gave me a chance in Coolie alongside Amitabh Bachchan! He thrust me into the spotlight. I unintentionally hurt Bachchan during that encounter and the rest is history. I went through a difficult time too. I gained attention once more when I played a major role in the Mahabharat series and I went on to star in 500 movies. I have also worked in movies made in the south. I had a Telugu film cast with Chiranjeevi, a Tamil superhit with Rajnikanth, and Malayalam flicks with Mohanlal. With Chiranjeevi, I worked on nearly three blockbusters! I have 10,000 television episodes to my name. Thus, 42 years have been spent in this industry. I began in 1982 and am still going strong in 2024.
