‘Govt reduced budget session to merely 4 days’

Must read

Former minister T Harish Rao criticised the government for not only evading its promises but also reducing the Assembly sessions. In a press meet at the Assembly Media Point, he stated that the government has condensed the budget sessions to four days, whereas they should be held for at least 15 days.
Harish Rao questioned the rationale behind discussing demands for only two days, calling it outrageous. He pointed out that during KCR’s regime, discussions on demands used to span nine days. He also took a jab at the Congress, questioning their current stance on increasing the working days of Assembly sessions, a demand they had made while in opposition. He accused the ruling party of behaving irresponsibly, noting that the agenda for the next day hadn’t been finalised yet.
This late announcement, he argued, leaves members unprepared for discussions. Harish Rao emphasised the need to discuss the issue of unemployment the following day and listed nine issues they proposed for discussion. These include the failure of law and order, suicides of weavers, legal guarantees, restrictions on farm loan waivers, bonuses for all crops, sanitary issues in villages and towns, funds for local bodies, fee reimbursement payments, and pending bills for previously sanctioned works.
Harish Rao also criticised the Central Budget, noting that the word Telangana was not mentioned. He accused the Congress and the BJP of jointly doing injustice to Telangana, citing their focus on backward districts in Andhra Pradesh while neglecting those in Telangana. He highlighted the lack of national status for the Palamuru-Rangareddy project and questioned the contributions of BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay, despite the BJP winning eight MP seats from Telangana.
He concluded by criticising the absence of the Kazipet Coach Factory and Bayyaram Steel Factory and declared that the BJP had done immense injustice to Telangana, giving the State nothing but a big zero.
