Minister for Revenue and Housing Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Sunday took part in a spree of laying foundation stones for developmental programmes in Khammam district and urged the contractors to execute the work as per the terms of the agreement within the stipulated time frame.
He laid the foundation stone for three drainage schemes in Palair to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh, development of black top road from Turkagudem to Chintala Thanda at a cost of Rs 180 lakh and development of a bitumen road from Turkagudem to Kistapuram village at a cost of Rs 108 lakh.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister directed the officials of the executing agency to complete works with quality and wanted officials to monitor the progress on daily basis.
He wanted the contractors to complete the drainage works wherever the road development works are conceived.
The Minister interacted with farmers and agricultural workers enquiring about their welfare and sought information on the progress achieved and the availability of seeds and fertiliser to them. He also sought information from farmers whether the agriculture officials have been tendering advices to them and whether the officials undertake field visits.
The farmers are happy at the intensified agricultural operations under progress.
Later, the Minister at his camp office distributed Chief Minister’s Relief Fund cheques worth Rs 8, 16, 500 to 37 beneficiaries.
Additional Collector D Madhusudhan Naik, Roads and Building Superintending Engineer Hemalata, Khammam Rural ACP Tirupati Reddy, Panchayat Raj executive Engineer Venkat Reddy, agriculture assistant director Vijay Chander, Kusumanchi Tahsildar Suresh and officials of various government departments and elected people’s representatives and others participated.
