Is former minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in search of greener pastures? The latest political developments hint at such a possibility. His lengthy meeting with Jana Sena Party (JSP) Political Affairs Committee (PAC) convenor Nadendla Manohar at the former’s residence on Wednesday has triggered speculation in political circles.

Though it is not clear as to what transpired at the meeting, sources close to the party said that Nadendla Manohar had sought the support of BJP leaders for the Jana Sena chief’s proposed ‘bus yatra’ scheduled to commence in January.

The meeting assumes significance in the backdrop of reports that Kanna Lakshminarayana is not happy with the State BJP leadership, particularly AP president Somu Veerraju and his style of functioning. Sources say that Pawan Kalyan has distanced himself from the BJP and trying for an alliance the TDP due to Somu Veerraju’s attitude.

Kanna Lakshminarayana openly criticised Veerraju for failing to maintain a friendly relationship with Pawan Kalyan. The whole problem in the state BJP is with Somu Veeerraju. He is of the view that Veerraju is functioning as the sole authority in the party. However, after the intervention of BJP national leadership, Kanna Lakshminarayana has become silent. However, he has not been taking any active part in the party activities.

Against this backdrop, Kanna Lakshminaraya’s meeting with Nadendla has led to the speculation that he might join the Jana Sena Party (JSP) sooner than later.
