Weed out Conocarpus plants by Aug 31: Collector

District Collector Jitesh V Patil on Wednesday directed the officials to work in coordination to ensure that developmental works are completed on schedule.
The Collector was holding a review meeting with officials of various departments through video conference. Revenue officials and Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) and others took part.
He said that as per the instructions of the State Election Commission, the voters’ lists should be updated on time by village panchayats. He emphasised the need to complete the work without any hiccup.
The Collector directed the Panchayat officials to ensure proper sanitation in all villages. He asked them to take up a special drive to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria. The responsibility to provide betters services to people rested on the officials, he said.
Jitesh V Patil directed the officials to focus on weeding out Conocarpus plants till August 31. The panchayat officials were told to plant pagoda and other saplings in their place.  
He instructed the Amma Adarsh school committees to monitor from time to time the schools. They were asked to ensure that the repair or development workers that were taken in various schools are completed speedily.
The Collector told the medical officials that he came know of shortage of medicines in some hospitals and asked them to take measures to ensure that patients do not suffer.
DRDO Vidyachandana, DPO Chandramouli, Panchayat Raj EE Srinivasa Rao, R&B EE Venkateswara Rao and officials of various departments participated in this meeting.
