Minister for Mines & Geology and Excise, Kollu Ravindra, has announced that the State government has launched the programme ‘Idi Manchi Prabhutvam’ to address the concerns of the public. He assured that issues raised by the citizens would be resolved at the earliest.
Participating in the ‘Idi Manchi Prabhutvam’ initiative to mark the completion of 100 days of governance, Minister Ravindra visited the 24th and 50th Divisions in the Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation on Saturday. During the event, he received petitions from the public.
While explaining various government schemes and initiatives, Minister Ravindra visited the home of Kalidindi Phani Krishna, who tragically lost his life in the Budameru floods, and handed over a compensation cheque of ?5 lakh to his family.
In his address, Ravindra criticised the previous YSRCP government, claiming it had devastated the State and left it without viable income sources. He highlighted that upon taking office, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had swiftly enacted five key assurances. The minister noted that pensions are now disbursed on the first day of every month, and the government has also initiated Anna Canteens to support the public.
During the floods in Budameru, he praised CM Naidu for remaining in Vijayawada until the waters receded, coordinating relief efforts and personally visiting flood victims. Furthermore, Ravindra announced that the distribution of free gas cylinders would commence from the Deepavali festival.
He also stated that the state government aims to complete the Machilipatnam Port within the next 18 months and is actively working to welcome ships. Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry is reportedly making significant efforts to establish the BPCL Company with an investment of ?60,000 crore, which he believes will transform the future of Machilipatnam in the coming years.
Present at the event were Machilipatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Bapiraju, and leaders Bandi Ramakrishna, M Baba Prasad, Ilias Pasha, P Venkanna, among others.
