Attack on flood victims heinous: Malladi Vishnu

YSRCP city president and former MLA, Malladi Vishnu, has said that the attack by MLA Bonda Uma’s followers on the flood victims is heinous. “It is a shame that the people of the city have lost everything due to heavy rains and floods and are left destitute. After the coalition government came to power, the people have lost their freedom of speech. The police lathi-charged the Karakatt and Bhavanipuram residents who hit the roads as the enumeration process was not done in their areas,” he said.
He mentioned a recent incident in Ajit Singh Nagar, where a person who went for help was tied to a pole and beaten up. At a time when donors and voluntary organisations are coming forward to help the flood victims, it is sad that such incidents are taking place. He wondered how justice will be done to the people if the elected government does not listen the flood victims. They demanded that those responsible for the attack should be severely punished as there is no room for violence in democracy.
