Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageswara Rao has said that the implementation of the loan waiver up to Rs 2 lakh would be completed soon.
He was taking part in the oath taking ceremony of the new market committee of the Gajwel Market Yard in Siddipet district on Thursday.
In-charge Minister Konda Surekha, Transport Minister  Ponnam Prabhakar also took part in the event.
Nageswara Rao said that the government had earmarked Rs 31,000 crore for the implementation of the loan waiver. In the first phase Rs 18,000 crore has been released.  Very soon, the loans of the other farmers would also be waived, he said.
The farmers have been earning good profits cultivating the oil palm crop. The area under the crop is the highest in Khammam district in Telangana. If the farmers of Siddipet district also cultivate oil palm in large extent of lands, a factory to process the oil palm fruits to extract oil would be set up here. The oil palm crop is beneficial to the farmers because of the crop rotation. For the benefit of small and marginal farmers, agricultural mechanisation would be taken up at a cost of Rs 600 crore.
Ponnam Prabhakar has appealed to the farmers to sell their produce at the procurement centres to get remunerative prices instead of selling it to middlemen. Paddy procurement centres were opened on October 1.
Konda Surekha, addressing the gathering, the present regime will surely implement six guarantees to establish Indiramma rule in Telangana.
The local market committee should strive to achieve this, she said.
Siddipet DCC president Tumkunta Narsa Reddy, newly elected Gajwel market committee chairman Narender Reddy, vice chairman Sardar Khan, Election Reddy, Chitti Devender Reddy, former municipal chairman Gadipalli Bhaskar and others took part in the event.
