To help students, the Charla police built a primary school in the Maoist-affected Burugupadu village. Superintendent of Police Rohit Raju inaugurated the school on Monday.
The Charla police noticed that the students of Burugupadu village were facing difficulties studying in a school established in a thatched house in the Maoist-affected border area. In response, they took steps to construct a building to house the school.
The villagers expressed their gratitude to the police, the SP, and others for their gesture toward the village.
The SP stated that the police work with the objective of developing the Adivasis, whereas the Maoists have been using the Adivasis to serve their own selfish ends, denying them basic facilities. He pointed out that the Maoists have not initiated even a small program for the benefit of the Adivasis.
The SP accused the Maoists of forcing the tribals to participate in their meetings at gunpoint and of enrolling minors and youth in their party to carry out illegal activities. Therefore, he appealed to the Adivasis not to cooperate with the Maoists.
He encouraged the children to attend the school, which was set up under the leadership of Charla Circle Inspector Raju Varma, to study well and secure good jobs.
He urged the villagers to take responsibility for making this happen.
He also asked the villagers to bring any problems in the village to his attention so that he could work to resolve them.
Later, he distributed sweets, notebooks, and fruits among the students who attended the inaugural function.

Additional SP T Sai Manohar, SB Inspector Srinivas, Charla CI Raju Varma, SI Narsireddy, CPRF Inspector Balakrishna, and school headmaster Veera Swamy were also present at the event.
