Kavitha celebrated Bathukamma but did not protect Bathukamma Kunta Lake: VH

Alleging that lands given by the former Prime Minister, the late Indira Gandhi, to the poor were grabbed by ‘Doras’ during the BRS government, senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao said that BRS MLC Kavitha played Bathukamma but failed to protect the Amberpet Bathukamma Kunta Lake. Many lakes were encroached on during BRS rule, VH said.
He said that BRS leader Sudhakar Reddy grabbed the Amberpet Bathukamma Kunta Lake in the name of the ‘Neeru-Meeru’ programme. VH said that he has evidence of the encroachment of the Bathukamma Kunta Lake by Sudhakar Reddy. He demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should revive the Bathukamma Kunta Lake. It is the responsibility of the Congress government, VH said. He demanded that the government should take action against Sudhakar Reddy, who encroached on the Bathukamma Kunta Lake.
Speaking to the media at the Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, VH said that one Ahmed Ajam had handed over the Bathukamma Kunta Lake to the government during NTR’s rule. He appealed to Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to visit the Bathukamma Kunta Lake area once. VH said that Bathukamma Kuntal Lake is the first lake encroached by BRS leaders and that he will meet the Advocate General and give the evidence regarding Bathukamma Kunta Lake. He requested the Congress government to revive the Bathukamma Kunta Lake and ensure that women can celebrate the Bathukamma festival next year.
