TDP did not take permission to organise show in Macherla

Guntur range Deputy Inspector General Dr.CM Trivikram Varma said that the Telugu Desam party leaders organised ‘Idemi Kharma’ programme in the 16 th ward in Macherla without taking prior permission from the police from and they did not even inform about the assembly at the sensitive areas.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday along with Macherla SP Ravishankar Reddy, the DIG said that the police were collecting evidence and other relevant information regarding the violence incidents.

The TDP leaders and activists assembled at a place in the sensitive 16 th ward in Macherla town. In fact, Police Act 30 has been clamped in the area. If the police had given prior information about the TDP programme in the sensitive 16 th ward, the police would have provided required security and would have deployed additional forces, he stated.

The TDP and YSRCP activists made allegations against each other and indulged in heated arguments and later they attacked each other with stones. “At the same time, the visible police team rushed there and made all efforts to disperse the clashing mobs. Stringent action will be taken against those who were involved in the violence incidents whoever they are. The police have taken the violence incidents seriously and begun a comprehensive investigation,” DIG Varma made it clear.

The DIG warned that in the future those who were involved in such incidents would have to face dire consequences.

He said that the police examined the CCTV footage to identify those who were involved in the violence incidents, adding that the police had taken complaints and recorded statements of those who were injured in the incidents.

The DIG warned that firm action would be taken against those trying to take the law into their hands, stating that cases under various sections against the accused were registered. He said that the TDP mobilized cadres from nearby villages and they were collecting information in this regard. He said that FIRs were registered on the violence incidents.

Meanwhile, normalcy returned to Macherla as all shops and commercial establishments were opened on Sunday. Vehicles and RTC buses played normally.
