Bhoomi pooja performed for new police station building

MP Vanga Geeta Viswanath here on Sunday performed the Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of a building of the Kirlampudi police station here.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said the police station had been housed for a long time in a private building as such at the request of the SP Ravindranath Babu, Rs 60 lakhs funds were mobilised under corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme for construction of permanent building.

The MP said Police were in the forefront during Covid pandemic in their effective functioning and the permanent buildings would further improve their working .

Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Chantibabu said modern facilities would be provided in the new building paving the way for effective functioning.

SP Ravindranath Babu thanked the MP and the MLA for their cooperation in mobilizing the funds for the permanent building. He said a modern police station would come up in an area of 23 cents adjoining the Kirlampudi primary health center.

Additional SP P. Srinivas, Special branch DSP Ambika Prasad, Peddapuram incharge DSP Sunkara Muralimohan, SC ST cell DSP B.Apparao, Jaggampeta circle Inspector B. Surya Apparao were among those attended.
