In a major boost to Nalgonda’s infrastructure, the Central government has approved the expansion of National Highway 565, a key route that connects Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with an investment of Rs 516 crore. The announcement, made by Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari, marks a significant step towards improving road connectivity and reducing traffic congestion in the district.
The project, which involves the construction of a four-lane bypass around Nalgonda Town, will cover a stretch of 14 kilometers. It aims to ease the traffic flow between Nakrekal and Nagarjuna Sagar, enhancing connectivity between rural and urban areas. The upgraded highway is expected to boost economic activity in the region by improving access for both passengers and goods.
The NH 565 is a critical arterial road that starts at the Nakrekal junction in Telangana and runs through several towns, including Nalgonda, Macherla, Erragondapalem, and Kanyigiri. It plays a pivotal role in linking Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, providing essential transportation access for travelers and businesses. With the expansion, the highway will not only facilitate smoother traffic but will also enhance road safety, addressing long-standing concerns of congestion and accidents in Nalgonda.
In his recent address, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that the project would bring long-term benefits to the region, improving connectivity and road safety. He also expressed optimism about the positive impact on Nalgonda’s economic growth.
BJP leaders from the region, including State Secretary Madhagani Srinivas Goud and Nimala Rajasekhar Reddy, thanked both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitin Gadkari for prioritizing this vital infrastructure project, which is expected to have far-reaching effects on the district’s development.
The expansion of NH 565 is poised to transform Nalgonda’s transportation landscape, offering a smoother and safer commute for residents and travelers alike.
