Dy CM Pawan warns poachers with stern action

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Panchayat Raj and Forest K. Pawan Kalyan has issued a stern warning to poachers, stating that strict action will be taken if animals are hunted. Pawan Kalyan unveiled a poster from the Forest department on anti-poaching measures at his camp office in Mangalagiri on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasised that poaching, killing, and smuggling of wild animals are serious offences punishable under the law.
He stressed that protecting forests and wildlife is a collective responsibility.
“Animals also have the right to coexist with humans on this earth,” he stated, urging everyone to show compassion and kindness towards animals.
Pawan Kalyan asserted, “According to the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, hunting, killing, and trafficking of wild animals is strictly prohibited. We will take stringent action against anyone who hunts wild animals or destroys forest resources.”
He recalled recent incidents where officials arrested those responsible for killing a leopard in the Koundinya forest area of Chittoor district within three days, and the poachers were subsequently sent to judicial remand.
Similarly, the police apprehended those involved in the killing of a rare animal in Palnadu district shortly after the incident. He encouraged the public to report any instances of killing, hunting, or trafficking of wild animals in their areas, urging them to contact the forest officials at the toll-free number 18004255909.
Present at the event were Forest Department Special Chief Secretary Ananta Ramu, PCCF Chiranjeevi Chowdary, and forest officers A.K. Naik, Sharavanan, Rahul Pande, and Santhipriya Pandy.
