SIRCILLA TEXTILE INDUSTRY Govt will extend support to face competition

Vemulawada MLA and Government whip Aadi Srinivas has advised the textile industry at Sircilla to face competition with the market and achieve growth.
At a meeting held at Integrated District Offices’ Complex here on Saturday, he reviewed the issue of the Sircilla textile industry. Handlooms and Textiles Principal Secretary Shailaja Raamiyer, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, Additional Collector KheemyaNaik, TESCO General Manager Ashok Rao and representatives of the power loom, handloom owners of Sirsilla.
He announced that the government would place an order for 66 lakh meters of cloth under RVM.  Further, the Government Whip disclosed that the government’s idea of gifting two saris per year to the members of self-help groups. The designs of saris have been completed and the orders for weaving the saris would be placed soon with the weavers.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Handlooms and Textiles Minister Nageswara Rao in the presence of Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Information Technology Minister D Sridhar Babu sanctioned Rs 50 crore to set up a yarn bank in Siricilla for the development of the textile industry. The yarn would be supplied to the weavers on 80% credit basis.
Extending power to the power loom units on subsidy basis would be brought to the attention of the government.
The issue of completing the work on the construction of Padmasali Association building, which remained suspended, would be taken to the notice of the government, he said adding that development of Siricilla district would not come to a grinding halt under any circumstances.
He asked the weavers of Sircilla to forge ahead with confidence as the state government has been initiating all measures to safeguard the interests of the textile industry here.
Principal Secretary to Handlooms and Textiles Industry has advised the textile industry here to adopt modern methods. The state government has plans to provide work to the textile units here for at least 6 months in a year, she said, asking the textile units to generate work for the next six months from the private sector. A meeting is scheduled to be held soon with wholesale traders of textiles to discuss with them about their cloth requirements, she said.
She appealed to the textile units to develop making good use of the yarn bank here and achieve self-sufficiency. The government released dues to the textile industry here to the tune of Rs150-200 crore and also the yarn subsidy to the weavers. Efforts are under way to resolve other problems, she said.
 Zilla Grandhalaya Samstha chairman Nagula Satyanarayana Goud, Sircilla Market Committee chairperson Swaroopa Reddy, handloom and textiles assistant director Sagar and others took part in the event.
