Shadnagar MLA Veerlapalli Shankar has taken significant steps to promote education and welfare schemes in the region, participating in two major events aimed at supporting the community.
In a notable gesture towards promoting education in government sector, former Kothur MPP M Sivashankar Goud, along with his wife Priyanka Sivashankar, donated Rs 5 lakhs for the construction of a new Government Junior College building in Shadnagar town. The donation was formally handed over through MLA Veerlapalli Shankar.
Speaking at the event, the MLA praised the couple’s contribution, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in strengthening the educational infrastructure. He expressed his delight in seeing former public representatives like Sivashankar Goud actively support such initiatives.
MPP Sivashankar Goud remarked on the quality of government education, noting that many successful individuals in various fields have emerged from government schools and colleges. He acknowledged the MLA’s role in facilitating the donation and emphasized the importance of investing in educational development for the community’s future. The event was attended by several local leaders, including Congress members Janga Narasimha Yadav, Jamrud Khan, and Kommu Krishna, showing their support for the initiative.
In a separate welfare initiative held at the MLA camp office, Veerlapalli Shankar distributed cheques worth Rs 35.38 lakhs from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to 117 beneficiaries from various areas, including Chaudhary Gudem, Kondurg, Keshampet, Farooqnagar, and Shadnagar town. Additionally, Rs 26.03 lakhs was distributed to 26 beneficiaries from Nandigama mandal, providing much-needed financial aid for medical expenses.
