A renowned actress and model, she has been an integral part of the popular web series Mismatched. As the show gears up for its third season, we caught up with her to talk about her experience, her character’s development and what audiences can expect from the upcoming season. Looking back on her association with Mismatched, she expressed her happiness with the way the show has progressed.
When asked about what drew her to the project initially, the De Dana Dan actress cited the show’s modern and relatable storyline. “The story was very modern,” she said. “It was about what’s happening today.” She also praised the show’s creator, noting that they have been “tremendous” since season one.
For the universe, she plays the character of none other than Rishi’s mother. As for her character’s development in season three, the Thammudu actress hinted that audiences can expect to see her character grow and evolve. “My character is pretty much a steady drop. There is no ‘oh my god’ kind of trajectory, unfortunately.” However, she expressed hope that her character’s storyline would become more complex in future seasons.
The Soch actress also spoke about how her own life experiences as a woman and mother influence her approach to her role. “I think what was interesting was that, in this also, the mother is very supportive of the children,” she said, highlighting the importance of supportive parenting.
When asked about the central themes and messages of season three, Govitrikar emphasized the show’s focus on relationships, identity and family. “It’s about how relationships evolve over time. What are the issues? What are the joys? What are the bondings that happen between two people in our group?” She noted that the show tackles complex issues in a relatable and realistic way.
Going ahead, she touched on the show’s ability to tackle different issues with each season. “It’s not the same thing as season one,” she said. “There are more complex issues coming up.” Aditi praised the show’s creators for their willingness to take on tough topics and explore the complexities of human relationships.
Apart from her acting career, Aditi has also been actively involved in the Marvelous Mrs India, a pageant that aims to empower married women. In this interview, Aditi shares her thoughts on Marvelous Mrs India, her philanthropic works and her upcoming projects.
Her passion for the Marvelous Mrs India is evident as she talks about the pageant’s mission to give married women a platform to rediscover themselves. “The fact that they go out of the pageant gives a lot more confidence in themselves… because there is disease and all those are required; it’s essential,” she explains. Aditi believes that married women often lose their identity after getting married or having kids, and Marvelous Mrs India provides them with an opportunity to reclaim their individuality.
As for her philanthropic works, Aditi is committed to using her platform to make a positive impact. While she didn’t delve into specifics, it’s clear that giving back to the community is an essential part of her values.
In terms of her acting career, Aditi admits to being choosy about the projects she takes on. “I’ve got a few offers that are fine,” she says, “but I don’t want to create any controversy.” Aditi is looking for roles that challenge her as an actress, particularly those with complex characters. “Mundane roles are easy to play. But if there are shades of gray or even black, that’s somebody who is eager, a manipulator, or a negative character—that’s very, very interesting to play.”
