Hearing in Obulapuram case adjourned to January 8PNS n Vijayawada

The Special Court of Public Representatives in Vijayawada has adjourned the hearing of the case registered against those who went to inspect illegal mining in the Obulapuram Iron Ore Mines in the United Andhra Pradesh on July 21, 2007, to January 8 next year. A case was registered against 21 people; however, three of them died during the investigation stage. Following the directions from the Magistrate during the previous hearing, all the remaining accused appeared for the hearing on Tuesday.
Several TDP, Congress, and BRS leaders, including current ministers and former public representatives, attended the court hearing. Interestingly, these leaders who now serve in different political parties were all TDP activists once. During the Congress regime, all these leaders of TDP went to inspect the Obulapuram Iron Ore Mines in D Hirehal Mandal of Anantapur district on July 21, 2007. After that, the police registered a case against these leaders.
Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Cooperation, and Dairy Development K Atchannaidu, former ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Nimmakayala China Rajappa, Amarnath Reddy, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Padala Aruna, and Telangana State Chief Minister Advisor (Public Affairs) Vem Narendra Reddy were among those who attended the court hearing.
Chinnam Babu Ramesh, Kollal Lalitha Kumari, Bommadi Narayana Rao, Masala Padmaja, Pula Nagaraju, Mullangi Ramakrishna Reddy, Veeranki Guru Murthy (currently AP Gowda Corporation Chairman), Mettu Govinda Reddy and YVB Rajendra Prasad, also appeared before the Special Court Magistrate.
The Magistrate recorded 313 statements from the leaders, who claimed that a false case had been charged against them and that they had not committed any crime as mentioned in the FIR. After the hearing, they said they had faith in the court and that justice would prevail.
