Rice millers directed to deliver CMR by Jan 25

Additional Collector J Venkateswarlu on Saturday directed the rice millers to deliver custom milled rice (CMR) as per time schedule.
During the meeting, the Additional Collector instructed that the CMR due for the 2023-24 Rabi season should be completed and delivered to the Food Corporation of India by January 25. Similarly, for the 2024-25 Kharif season, the CMR due to the Civil Supplies Corporation must also be completed by the rice millers immediately.
He warned that if the rice millers fail to meet the deadline, legal actions would be taken against them. He urged the millers to avoid delay and complete the delivery of CMR on time to avoid legal consequences.
He further mentioned that many mill owners are not providing bank guarantees despite being instructed, and if this attitude continued, there would be no hesitation in shifting the rice to other parties.
The meeting was attended by Civil Supplies Officer Kashi Vishwanath, Civil Supplies DM Ramesh, leaders and members of the Rice Millers Association, and other officials.
