Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has directed the officials to speed up the construction of the new building for the Antenatal Care (ANC) at the Government General Hospital in Nalgonda.
The building is being constructed to assist pregnant women visiting the hospital daily for prenatal care, as well as those admitted for delivery and their attendants. The Minister emphasised the importance of quality construction and a quick completion timeline, directing the contractor accordingly. During his visit, the Minister also inspected various hospital wards and emphasised the establishment of a ward for postnatal care. He directed the installation of air conditioners in the ward under the Prake Foundation’s guidance. The ward will serve to educate parents about post-delivery care for mothers and babies. Additionally, the Minister suggested measures to support hospital staff working on depression-related issues and assured the employees that the shortage of gynaecologists and general surgeons, besides staff nurses, would be addressed soon. District Collector Ila Tripathi announced a 15,000 monthly reward for the best-performing doctor at the hospital.
