Minister for Housing and I&PR, K Parthasarathy, has assured that the capital city of Amaravati will be constructed within the next three years.
Accompanied by his wife Kamala Lakshmi, the Minister took part in Sankranti celebrations held at Kothagudem village in Chatrai Mandal on Sunday. The couple received a warm welcome from the villagers, and the Minister lit the traditional Bhogi Mantalu. He extended his heartfelt Sankranti wishes to the people on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Parthasarathy emphasised that Amaravati will be developed as a world-class capital with financial assistance from the World Bank. He asserted that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government is committed to the state’s development, with the Chief Minister determined to achieve rapid progress and deliver a top-tier capital city.
The Minister also pledged to complete the Chintalapudi lift irrigation scheme, ensuring the provision of drinking and irrigation water to the region. He highlighted that development works worth ?20 crore had already been undertaken in the Nuzvid constituency.
Parthasarathy praised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh for leveraging advanced technology to enhance governance and attract significant investments to the state, thereby generating large-scale employment opportunities. “The government is ensuring that payments for farmers’ paddy produce are disbursed within 48 hours of procurement. Promises made to the people are being fulfilled one after another,” he remarked.
He further noted that the government has increased social security pensions from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 and allocated Rs 1,600 crore for road repair works across the state. Additionally, steps are being taken to introduce free bus travel for women shortly, he clarified.
Sub-Collector Smaran Raj, alongside leaders from the TDP and JSP, also participated in the event.
