Welfare schemes should reach every eligible poor family without being hijacked by the influential people and Gram Sabhas are being held to ensure that welfare benefits are delivered to the eligible beneficiaries, said Minister for Excise, Tourism, and Culture Jupally Krishna rao.
As part of the Gram Sabha meetings being held statewide to select beneficiaries for welfare schemes to be launched by the state government on Republic Day, the Minister attended a meeting on Thursday at Salkalapur under Ghanapur mandal in the district.
Local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy, Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi, District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, and others participated as chief guests in the event.
During the event, Minister Jupalli stated that government welfare schemes should be given only to eligible beneficiaries. If there are any people who are missing from the list of beneficiaries or have not been registered, Gram Sabhas would be organised to ensure their inclusion.
He mentioned that the state government has allocated Rs 175 crore for the construction of Indiramma houses in the Wanaparthy district.
Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi pointed out that the Gram Sabha held at Salkalapur would help people raise their concerns, if any. He asked the officials to ensure that no eligible persons would be left out of welfare schemes.
