Minister for Tourism Develop ment, Kandula Durgesh, has emphasised the government’s commitment to achieving inclusive growth while simultaneously fostering the tourism sector in the state.
In a statement on Saturday, Minister Durgesh highlighted that the government is focused on both tourism development and the broader goal of inclusive, comprehensive growth along with job creation.
He explained that economic development would be driven by promoting sustainable practices and generating employment opportunities. The coalition government is determined to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading destination in the tourism sector.
Reaffirming his commitment to the tourism sector’s role in economic growth benefiting all sections of society, Durgesh recalled that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan have given special attention to tourism for overall development.
“The Chief Minister has recently accorded ‘Industry’ status to the tourism sector. Following this, a new tourism policy for 2024-25 has been introduced,” the Minister stated. Durgesh further revealed that during the tourism summit held in Vijayawada, they met with investors and received proposals for various tourism projects.
“The next tourism summits will be held in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati soon. The Central government has already sanctioned funds for the Akhanda Godavari and Gandikota tourism projects, and work on these has commenced,” he added.
