GMC standing panel polls today

Guntur Municipal Corporation (GMC) Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu announced that the Standing Committee elections will be held on Monday, with all necessary arrangements in place to ensure their smooth and efficient conduct. He emphasized that all designated officers and staff must strictly adhere to election regulations while carrying out their duties.
On Sunday morning, Commissioner Srinivasulu, along with Election Officer and Additional Municipal Commissioner Challa Obulesu and other officials, reviewed the arrangements for the elections. He issued necessary instructions to officials to ensure a seamless electoral process.
The GMC Commissioner inspected various election-related materials, including display boards, polling compartments, ballot boxes, and other equipment essential for conducting the elections. He confirmed that all preparations had been finalized, with polling set to begin at 10:30 am and conclude at 3:00 pm on Monday.
Srinivasulu stated that only corporators arriving to cast their votes would be permitted inside the office, and they must carry identification cards issued by the Guntur Municipal Corporation. He clarified that mobile phones, electronic devices, and other materials would not be allowed inside the polling station. A special cloakroom has been established at the Citizens’ Service Center in the municipal parking area for corporators to store their personal belongings.
To maintain order during polling, he announced that no other vehicles would be allowed to park within the Municipal Corporation premises. Corporators arriving to vote have been instructed to use the parking facilities at Gandhi Park. Upon entry through the main gate of the Municipal Corporation, they will undergo a police check before proceeding to the polling station, with arrangements in place for their exit through the parking gate after voting.
The GMC Commissioner further stated that staff must perform their duties strictly within their designated departments, carrying their identification cards at all times. Those assigned election duties must report by 8:00 am with their ID cards. Additionally, only the Election Officer will be permitted to carry a mobile phone into the polling station.
