Prakasam District Collector A Thameem Ansariya urged voluntary organisations to play a crucial role alongside government agencies in eradicating child labour.
The Collector flagged off an awareness rally on Monday to mark National Child Labour Eradication Day. Speaking on the occasion, she emphasised the need for coordinated efforts between voluntary organisations and government agencies to identify and curb child labour in the district.
Later, the Collector released wall posters to spread awareness and administered a pledge to eliminate child labour.
DEO Kiran Kumar, District Deputy Labour Officer Gayatri, DMHO K. Venkateswarlu, Revenue Officer Obulesu, and HELP voluntary organisation PD B.V. Sagar were among those present.
