ACB has registered Case of disproportionate assets against Markala Rajani, Tahsildar and Joint Sub-Registrar of Jammikunta Mandal, Karimnagar district.
A case of disproportionate assets to the known sources of income was registered against Markala Rajani, Tahsildar and Joint Sub Registrar of Jammikunta Mandal, Karimnagar district as she has acquired assets by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during her service.
As this is an offence punishable under Section 13 (2) read with 13(1) (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), preliminary searches were conducted on at her house and other five various places belonging to her relatives, associates and benami houses. During the searches property documents of open plots, and agricultural lands, were found i.e. 7 documents for seven acres of agricultural land Rs 55,22,630, 22-open plot documents W/Rs. 21,17,700.
Additionally, documents of advance payment agreements were found for the purchase of three properties W/Rs. 50 lakhs in her name and in the names of her family members. The market value is expected to be much higher than the official value. Furthermore, net cash of Rs. 1,51,540/-, bank balance amount of Rs.25,73,525/-, gold ornaments weighing 1462.5 grams W/Rs. 10,27,383/- household articles W/Rs. 9,39,100/-, vehicles W/Rs. 31,06,000/-were found. The total assets are estimated to be about Rs. 3,20,16,915/- (in words: Three Crore, Twenty Lakh, Sixteen Thousand, Nine Hundred and Fifteen rupees). Further verification of additional assets is underway.
The AO will be arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Prl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Karimnagar.
