Actor Kayadu Lohar, who rose to fame for her role in Ashwath Marimuthu’s Dragon alongside Pradeep Ranganathan, is reportedly under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the TASMAC scam case in Tamil Nadu, according to reports.
The report claims that Kayadu has come under the radar of the ED for her alleged link to the scam. Individuals associated with the scam and caught during recent ED raids have reportedly named her. It is further alleged that Kayadu charged Rs 35 lakh to attend ‘night parties’.
For the uninitiated, the TASMAC scam is an alleged financial scandal involving Tamil Nadu’s state-run liquor company, TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation). According to a PTI report, the Supreme Court on Thursday remarked that the ED is “crossing all the limits” and violating the federal concept of governance. The apex court has also stayed the money laundering probe against TASMAC over the alleged corruption. Meanwhile, a law officer opposed the order, stating that the case involves corruption exceeding Rs 1,000 crore and that the ED is “not crossing the limits, at least in this case.”
As of now, Kayadu Lohar has not issued any official statement regarding the alleged link to the case.
