Administration is ‘shaken, not stirred’

The administration in Telangana, to use James Bond’s celebrated phrase indicating how prefers his cocktails, is ‘shaken, not stirred’.  Another rejig, which is likely post Lok Sabha polls, may see the administration stirred. For, several officers have been continuing in the posts for a long time. They, in particular, are on tenterhooks. An official from this once privileged lot shared that the new government and ministers are perhaps in the process of de-briefing, trying to know from the horse’s mouth the untoward and juicy things that may have happened over the past 10 years. “Eventually everyone will be moved”, a Minister had remarked quite revealingly some time back. So, ultimately there won’t be any long-standing officer at all. Moreover, in the present dispensation, a lot depends on the ministers’ individual preferences — whom they want and who should leave — and not just the CM alone like in the previous regime.
