District Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh has said that the government-sponsored ‘Kantivelugu’ programme is being implemented efficiently in the district and advanced medical equipment was installed in the GGH.
The Collector here on Tuesday, formally inaugurated the new eye testing and treating medical equipment, worth Rs 27 lakh, in the GGH here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the state government is fully implementing the ‘Kantivelugu program to provide free ophthalmic services to people suffering from eye problems.
The Collector said that advanced medical equipment at par with the corporate hospitals was installed in the GGG to provide medical treatment free of cost to the people who are suffering from eye-related problems.
He said that along with eye examination, eyeglasses and medicines are being provided free of charge, adding that priority should be given to better sanitation in the government hospitals.
The Collector said that the government is providing better medical services to the poor through the Arogyasri scheme, stating that the doctors, nurses and staff working in the government hospital have been asked to provide services with love and affection to the patients who come to the hospital for medical treatment.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to modernize all the government hospitals in the state. The Chief Minister has also taken steps to ensure that all the poor get corporate medical treatment and provide advanced medical equipment in the GGHs.
GGH Superintendent Dr.U Agnesh Vijay explained about the newly installed medical equipment to treat eye-related diseases. Later the Collector got his eyes tested in the GGH with the medical equipment. Dr. Mallikharjun DCH Pal Satish Kumar and others were present.
